UPVC Replacement Door Handles
The handles on your doors wear out over time and will need to be replaced. It is important to be able to match the dimensions of the handles that were previously used when replacing them.
The top screw's position as well as the lever and keyhole dimensions are the three measurements that you need to check. Use the size guide to help with this.
Inline Lever/Lever
A lever handle or lever is a modern door handle that is designed to fit new or replacement doors. This type of handle is available in various designs and finishes. A variety of manufacturers provide this type of handle, including Avocet ERA, Fullex, Hoppe, Mila, Millenco & Yale.
Fab and Fix Windsor Inline Sprung Lever Door Handle
The door handles of uPVC/Composite are constructed of durable materials and are suitable for multi point lock doors which require a robust design. The handles are inline and operate from the same spindle and screw fixings. They can be easily fitted to doors made of uPVC/Composite, either new or old.
The sprung lever design allows the handle to be positioned and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been tested for endurance up to 200 000 cycles. This helps ensure that the finish is of high quality and performance will last for a long time. The lever that springs is adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly beneficial for narrower door frames where the cylinder is located further back. A shorter lever is an excellent option for doors that have latches that can be opened by a thumb turn on the inside.
Lever Pad
The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles commonly found on doors. The handle can work off one single spindle (inline) or independently from each side by using two offset spindles or inline (pad). They are generally employed on UPVC double glazed doors and come in many variations & finishes.
The handles have been tested to at least 200,000 cycles and are available in several finishes including White, Silver, Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and is resistant to rust. This gives the handle a high performance and long-lasting durability for the purpose it was designed for.
All of the UPVC lever pad styles for handles come with a spindle and screws which allow them to be installed on an existing or new uPVC door. The backplate fixation centers of 211mm allow for a bigger handle, which is typically beneficial when replacing an old or damaged multi-point door lock mechanism. The handle levers come with a spring, which solves the problem of door handles that sag out of the horizontal position when not in use.
It is crucial to match the dimensions of the PZ for both the multipoint lock and the uPVC doors when choosing a replacement UPVC spindle and handle. This measurement can also be referred to as 'handle centres' or cylinder centres'. It is important to match the right handles.
Once you have the proper PZ size you will then need to ensure that the handle lever pads and push pads are in a suitable shape for the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) approved handles you need for your doors. These are usually round or square with an internal lever, and an external push pad.
The majority of UPVC lever pads that we offer are sprung, which means that they return to their horizontal position after not in use, instead of hanging out and possibly securing in the frame. This stops draughts from entering the home. It is also the case that the majority of UPVC lever pad handles are swivel, allowing you to install them on either side of the door.
Euro Cylinder
Cylinder locks are commonly found on uPVC doors, but can be utilized on other types of doors. Full Document operates by using a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to those inside the lock, allowing them to rotate the camera that rotates, opening the door. Euro cylinders can be equipped with up to six pins, with external and internal doors usually having different levels of security.

The choice of the correct cylinder is crucial; it depends on the way your door and handle are utilized. For example, external doors require an extra secure cylinder, while internal doors can be secured with a standard cylinder. Certain cylinders are equipped with additional features that can improve security, such as anti-drill or anti bump properties.
A euro cylinder needs to be measured correctly to ensure it is the correct size for your door. The cylinder needs to be measured from the screw hole in the center to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn, should there be one. It is best to do this while the lock is in place however, in the event that this is not feasible, you can take it off and remove it to measure. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon could be vulnerable to attacks, such as snapping locks, therefore it is crucial that it's not too long.
The design of most newer cylinders has anti-drilling and bump resistance features. These are designed to reduce attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This can help stop the attack and ensure your doors are secure.
Certain cylinders are constructed to resist snapping. This is a more frequent method of attack on cylinders, which is where the break line of the lock is smashed by a tool that is specially designed to break off the front of the cylinder to allow the door to open. This is a faster and simpler method to gain access than through the use of a multipoint locking system. It also leaves no evidence of the break-in which could delay insurance claims.
Spring Cassette
This spring cassette sits inside the base of your door handle's backplate, providing a spring solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their rest position after using. The handles had no spring and would drop when the locking mechanism was removed. This simple component is the most effective way to solve this issue. It also stops your upvc door from becoming stuck in either the closed or open position, as they are difficult to close manually.
These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with unsprung multipoint handles and you will need to have a custom hole cut into your backplate in order for them to fit (please see image for technical diagram). They are a replacement for damaged or missing cassettes inside the backplates of door handles of numerous kinds of uPVC doors. They are sold as one unit. They feature a square cut out that accommodates an 8mm shaft.
